Polar Bear has been the ice cream stop on Pennsylvania Avenue in Matamoras since 1984, a short drive from the Delaware River and the bridge into Port Jervis. It is a stand, not a restaurant: pull up, order at the window, and eat your cone at the picnic tables out front.
Sundaes, shakes, hard scoop and soft serve twist, made the same way it has been made for forty summers.
